Basset is known for her strong African American female leads that she portrays. She has received many accolades for what she has done for the African American community.

Rosa Parks was an African American activist in the civil rights movement. She is known for her critical role in the Montgomery Bus Boycott. The U.S. Congress honored her by giving her the title "The first lady of the Civil Rights" and "The Mother of the freedom movement".

Beyonce´ is a singer, songwriter, and actress. She was in many of singing competitions as a child. She became famous in the late 1990's as the lead vocalist of Destiny's Child and became one of the best selling girl groups. She also became the first African American woman to headline coachella. She has received plenty of awards for her breath taking work.
